Can you accommodate smaller parties?

Absolutely. We welcome parties of all sizes. Our discounted cash pricing is $50 per adult and $30 per child under 12, with a $700 event minimum.At these rates, 14 adults meet the minimum. Groups with both adults and children are calculated using the same rates. If the per-person subtotal is below $700, the event minimum applies.The minimum helps cover travel, chef and server staffing, equipment, setup, and cleanup. How far does Takumi travel?

We serve all of Long Island. Events located more than approximately 30 minutes from our Bay Shore restaurant may require a travel fee based on the location and driving time.Enter the complete event address in the availability form, and we’ll confirm any applicable travel fee before booking.

Question 3

What if I need to cancel or reschedule my event?

Accepted Answer

A $100 booking deposit reserves your date, chef, and service team and is applied in full to your final event balance.We understand that plans can change, so one complimentary date transfer is available with at least seven (7) calendar days’ written notice. The deposit may be transferred to another available date within six months.Booking deposits are non-refundable. Requests received fewer than seven days before the event, additional date changes, or no-shows are not eligible for a deposit transfer; a new $100 deposit will be required to reserve another date.Rescheduled events are subject to availability and current pricing. Please see our weather policy below for weather-related changes.

What does the host need to provide?

Hosts provide guest dining tables, chairs, and a flat, safely accessible outdoor cooking area.Takumi provides the live hibachi chef, dedicated server, cooking equipment, food, disposable plates and utensils, chopsticks, napkins, cooking-station setup, service, and cleanup.

What happens if it rains or the weather is unsafe?

Accepted Answer

We understand that weather can be unpredictable. Our chefs cook outdoors only, either in an open area or under a covered area that remains fully open-air. We do not cook inside homes, garages, or other enclosed spaces.Light rain usually won’t stop the event as long as the host provides a safe, dry cooking area, such as a tent, awning, or covered patio. We strongly recommend having a covered backup area ready.For heavy rain, lightning, high winds, or other unsafe conditions, Takumi will make the final safety determination. If we determine that the event cannot safely proceed, your deposit may be transferred once to another available date within six months—even if the decision is made fewer than seven days before the event. Deposits remain non-refundable, and the new date is subject to availability.If Takumi is prepared and able to perform safely but the host chooses not to proceed, our standard cancellation and rescheduling policy applies.

Can you accommodate allergies or gluten-free guests?

Accepted Answer

Yes, with advance notice. Gluten-free soy sauce, teriyaki sauce, and salad dressing are available. We can also prepare an allergy-sensitive guest’s food first and separately whenever possible.Please list all allergies and dietary restrictions in the availability form. Because food is prepared in a shared environment, we cannot guarantee zero cross-contact.

Can you accommodate vegetarian guests or other dietary preferences?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Vegetarian options and other dietary preferences may be arranged with advance notice.Please include all requests in the availability form so we can review and confirm the available options before preparing your event agreement.

How is the remaining balance paid?

Accepted Answer

Your deposit will be applied toward the total event price. Once the final guest count and any approved protein upgrades or add-ons are confirmed, we’ll provide your remaining balance.All advertised Home Hibachi pricing reflects our discounted cash pricing. The remaining balance is due in cash on the event date and paid directly to our team.

What time will the chef and server arrive?

Our chef and server typically arrive approximately 15 minutes before the scheduled start time.Please have the guest tables, chairs, and outdoor cooking area ready before our team arrives.
